Weather: ☁️🌤️🌤️☀️⛅
Picnic: 🥪🥪🥪🥪 (4 out 5, nice bread from the bakery in Wassertrüdingen and cherries from the tree, in a grassy meadow)
Track: 🇩🇪🇩🇪🇩🇪 (3 out of 5, nice forest trail with a few fields and villages)
Traction on track: 🍌 (1 out of 5 bananas on the sometimes muddy tracks)
Campsite: ⛺⛺⛺ (3 out of 5, flat spot in the forest)
Name of followed trail: E8, Main Donau weg
The weather is great today, no rain to be seen! The trail is nice and mostly in the forest, but the first half takes some work for me this time.
I wake up, somehow still tired. I had a good night of sleep, but not really rested.
After a great breakfast we start our walk, but I’m having a hard time getting up the hills. A little bit of physical fatigue, combined with mentally being a bit tired of the every day hiking life. No big drama; in New Zealand this happened around the same time. A hundred days on trail apparently is a point where I wonder why I do this to myself… 😅
It would be nice to have a trail family to share this with. I do miss that; the smelly strangers that become friends to share our crazy adventure with. Ofcourse I do have Mark, who is just really enjoying this hiker life, as a steady factor next to me.
It helps that the trail is pretty, and that we have a long lunch break in the grassy meadow next to a cherry tree full of ripe red cherries.
After that break, I have shaken off most of the fatigue. You can’t question why you’re doing this at a place like that! 😍
When we walk into the village, we find an ice cream café where we get something to drink and an ice cream. The relaxed pace we’re having brings back the energy (and the chatter).
The last 15 km we walk through the forest and fields and enjoy the walk together. We get some water in the village and hike up the hill where we find a nice, flat spot for our tent.

Groetjes Miriam
