Name of followed trail: Mittelland weg
Special mention: Our hosts Fritz and Rosi, whom invited us for a glass of water when we passed their house. A glass of water became a drink and that became a meal, a good evening and a bed. Thank you for your kindness and hospitality. We had a great evening!

After a good breakfast with Franz and Martina, we continue our way to Zwettl an der Rodl. We have a coffee here, and bring bread for lunch along the way.

The walk brings us through valleys and over hills. We have great views and I especially enjoy the flowery meadows full of butterflies. What an incredible country this is!

When we walk up a hill close to Trosseldorf a man comes out and offers us a glass of water. We’re sweaty and hot, so we happily accept. We have a chat about our journey and he gets his wife our to sit with us. We get a beer, some snacks and a glass of water turns into a nice afternoon. At some point we need to either get going or pitch tent there. We’re not allowed to pitch, yet are offered a bed by our hosts Fritz and Rosi. We get a tour through their house, Haus Berger, which is a completely rebuild cowshed at the farm that belonged to Fritz’s parents. We learn from them about the houses and habits in the Mühlviertel region.

We are absolutely amazed by the hospitality we’ve received in Austria so far, and enjoy the evening with Fritz and Rosi.
