Weather: ☀️🌤️☀️🌤️☀️
Picnic: 🥪🥪🥪 (3 out 5, Laugenecken and apples at an uninspiring spot in the shade)
Track: 🇦🇹🇦🇹🇦🇹 (3 out of 5, ok trail with a lot of roadwalking through mostly fields and sleepy villages)
Campsite: ⛺⛺⛺ (3 out of 5, quiet, flat spot in the forest. Full of pesky deer keds though)
Name of followed trail: Grenzlandweg (607)
The weather was really nice today, and the trail mostly easy going. A lot of roads walking today, mainly through the fields of the Thaya valley. Not the most inspiring dat of hiking, but we made good progress.
Halfway we found a café to have a second lunch and some drinks before we continue to Karlstein. From here it’s another 2,5 km to our campsite. We get some drinks at the supermarket. Next to the clock museum we had a good break. We got our water at the very clean public
toilets and walked the last kilometers and found a nice secluded spot in the forest.
We make our meal here and get into the tent, because there are deer Keds everywhere. Pesky insects that crawl on your skin. They don’t bite, there just with many… And apparently we look/smell like deer…🤨
It cools down nicely. I hope this means a good night of sleep!
In case anyone wonders: I didn’t bring another guy today. It’s Mark without beard 😅
