A beautiful day of hiking today, but we’re both happy that it was only 11 kilometers because it was hot and steep in quite a few parts😅.

We enjoyed a good breakfast and left around 9.00. We start up the hill on a grassy track and in a short while we leave the village and the valley behind us. The views on this stretch are pretty amazing

and we both enjoy being up here. The flower meadows are amazing and today some butterflies do want to pose…😁😅

The track also goes through some forest and is pretty steep at parts. Luckily today the views make up for it.

We are making good progress at first, but become a bit slower later on. The 11 km hike takes us a little over 3,5 hours. Longer than expected , but we are still in time for our ride from Daniel and Jana. We met them on the trail more than a week ago, and they invited us to their home in Klástor pod Znievom.

We meet Jana’s mom here, who made a delicious lunch with soup, sorrel, eggs and potato’s.

After lunch it’s time to relax and take a shower. When Jana and Daniel are finished with their work, Jana sows me around in their garden and Daniel starts with grilling for dinner. The sun goes down behind the mountains we look at from the garden. We have a feast meal and a great evening together.

We feel grateful for the hospitality we receive, we feel privileged to be here and proud to have made it this far. Standing in this garden, watching the sunset over the mountains and having dinner with people who were strangers before today, we feel free.

We couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate 5 months on trail 🙂♥️.
