Name of followed trail: Green trail to lake Izra, then E3

Last night, when we were in the tent, we were disturbed by the local wildlife. A few wild boar were looking for water, which resulted in a lot of noise in the shrubs, including some low growling sounds. And although we are pretty sure it was a bunch of boar, the thought that it might be a bear went through our mind. So we got up, out of the tent with the bear spray in our hands. With loud noises and light, we chased them off, bacck into the forest. It took some time to get to sleep after that..😅

The next morning we made breakfast and left our campspot, to walk to lake Izra and pick up E3 again.

From there, we have a nice walk through a beautiful forest, where we see quite a few deer. From the forest, we walk into the fields. In a village we see our first orthodox church, another sign that we are definitely no longer at home…

We have a Kofola at a surprise cafe along the way, across the street from something that used to be a cafe too.

A long section of roadwalking through the fields follows, until we get to Michal’any. Here, we post the key from Lajoska that we accidentally took with us and we get lunch from the supermarket next door. We have our lunch in front of the railway station, before we continue towards our destination of Malý

Trna, 15 kilometers from here. The trail goes through the fields and through several villages, before we go into the forest again. This section is quite a change to our previous section, with lots of forest and mountains, and almost no villages!

In the forest we loose our way a few times, sometimes because the markers are a bit hidden, but also once because someone decided to paint al the red markers blue! The even put wire and blue stickers over the red signs! In this confusion I was happy to have my watch to navigate through this color mix-up 😅.

We get out of the forest in Vel’ke Trna, a village that is part of the Tokaj region, famous for its wine. We continue to the next village, Malý Trna, where we have a room.

It’s a nice place with a friendly owner. We even get a bottle of wine as a welcoming gift!

We go for dinner at the only restaurant in the village. It’s a bit of a weird place with a cowboy theme, we’re the only guests and the door is locked when we get there, but the people are friendly and the food is very good!

After dinner, we go back to our room we get a glass of wine and call Annemieke, so she can prepare a package with our shoes and other stuff for us, and send it to Romania. We are grateful to have her as our logistics manager. Thank you again Annemieke!

After that, it’s time to go to sleep.
