Time for a holiday weekend! After months of saving my 3 wildcards I got from Mark as a birthday gift, it’s time to exchange them for a weekend at the spa in Hajduszoboszlo!
We got up at 5.00 today, to make sure we have plenty of time to get to catch our train at Niyrbator.
The trail was easy today, so we walked a lot faster then expected.
We do our first 10 before 10 this hike, a thru-hike term for early birds who walk 10 miles (16,1 km) before 10.00 in the morning. It’s a good way to get progress early in the day, especially on long or warm days. Now, it meant that we have 9 km to go at 10.00 😅
So we arrived at Niyrbator train station with an hour to spare… for a train earlier 😂. So we don’t take the 15.28 train, but the 13.28 one!
We have to change trains at Debrecen, where we miss the train due to a delay, but therefore have time to look around inside the train station.
After this little expedition, we get into the train and to Hajduszoboszlo. We go for a luxurious treatment and take a taxi
to our hotel. As always, it kind of feels like doing an escape room with the descriptions in Hungarian and the different key codes, but when we get in, we are in a beautiful appartment!
We take a shower, go for dinner and then it’s time for an early night!
