A day with the usual tasks of laundry, repairing, resupply and planning. And good food! And giving our body some rest, which is a the most needed ànd most difficult in a day like this…😅
The bed was very good indeed!
We started with a nice breakfast at Co:de, and after that we prepared our tent for windy conditions. This meant making small holes in the fabric to attach elastic bands to it, so we can fixate the tent to the tent poles. This used to be possible, but Mark cut out the Velcro bands because we never used them…
I finish the planning to Vatra Dornei, which became a bit easier when I found it that the trail is slightly different than it used to be.
I also have contact with a Czech fellow hiker, who gave some very useful information on does and don’t’s in case of bears and/or dogs in the Romanian mountains. Besides the useful tips, it’s also very nice to talk to someone that has hiked (almost) the same trail and enjoyed it! So now we look to our next section with a bit more confidence.
We get our resupply done, hotels booked and have another great dinner at the Turkish restaurant Saffiya, where we also had dinner yesterday. If you’re ever in Baia Mare, go there. And be sure to bring your appetite! 😋
At home, we repack everything, so we can do our last chores in the morning, including getting our package with new gear at the DHL centre!
