Name of followed trail: ‘chickenrun’ day 5 of 5, D138
We sleep in this morning and have a nice breakfast of yoghurt and fruit before we leave our perfect little home for today’s 12 kilometer hike along the D138.
Eventhough we walked 36 kilometers yesterday, it felt like half a restday because of the relaxed appartment.
The walk isn’t interesting, but we enjoy watching the beautifully crafted and painted gates, and try to make something of the unpronounceable names of the villages along the way. The Hungarian language is really challenging us 😅😂
We walk past a place that sells chimney bread, tube shaped bread that comes from an iron roll that is turned over hot coals. We get one for lunch 😋.
Around 12.15 we walk into Odurheiu Secuiesc and phone the owner of
our new appartment. He is willing to let us in early, so we can out down our backpacks and go for our first round of resupply and shopping. We are determined to make more efficient use of our extra time than in Vatra Dornei 😅😁
So we buy wash and impregnate liquid for our rain gear, do shopping for the next few days and make a planning for the next section! This way, we have plenty of time tomorrow to actually rest!
We make dinner and go to the concert in the park next to our appartment. It’s been a good day as a finish of our chickenrun. Time to hike the Via Transilvanica!
