Somehow we forgot to set the alarm, so we slept in until 7 😅, lazy asses!
While making breakfast Mark spills tea over the sleeping bags and his leg. Not the best start of the day. Luckily he hasn’t burned himself too badly, so cooling with a water blatter is enough to soothe it.
We start our day expecting another boring day of straight roadwalking, but the walk is a lot more diverse than yesterday. Forest tracks, walking along the Donau are also part of it. Long and straight parts still are there, but shorter than yesterday; featuring a long straight dyke and a 2 km long bridge over the Donau.
When we are across the river, we soon enter Hainburg, where we do our resupply for the next few days and fill up our water.
The last 4 kilometers are quite enjoyable along the rocky edges of the river and through sunflower fields.
We find a spot along the river, where we enjoy the view and can take a bath. I did have to time the bath with the passing of tourist boats though 😅.
Across the river we see a campfire of another camper. In Slovakia. I don’t think I’ve ever looked at a campfire in another country 😅.
We have a coffee and enjoy the little hedgehog that’s foraging around our tent.
