We got up early so Daniel could bring us to Fučkovske sedlo before he starts work. We start our hike around 7.30, starting up the hill through a meadow.
The elevation is easier today, but there are a few steep parts. We’re happy we started early, because it’s warm already! The trail passes a lot of flower meadows and the butterflies are patient today. The views are pretty and the forest gives the much needed shade. We enjoy our short hike today, only 8 km. It takes us 3 hours to get to Vrícke sedlo. A bit more than the signs predict, but we’re happy to take it slow today 😁.
At Vrícke sedlo, Daniel picks us up again. what a luxury to be picked up!
We use the rest of the day to do laundry, replan an relax. I made a new schedule with less kilometers to get us to Telgart in 10 days. This way we can choose what distance is doable that day. Jana and Daniel help us with the plan by showing their itinerary, and giving suggestions for nice spots and water sources. They also show us the SNP website, https://cestasnp.sk/ it’s in Slovak, but with translation it’s a good extra source of information for us!
Daniel calls ahead for us to our destination of tomorrow and makes a reservation. Easy to do it this way, because the owner of the cabin speaks only Slovak..😅
After Daniel is done with work we go on a sightseeing tour through Kláštor pod Znievom. around the village they have a mega bench, mega bicycle and mega swing. We have fun at these huge objects. Daniel brings us there on their quad. That’s also a cool experience. We also get to drive ourselves. Now Mark wants one too… Thanks Daniel 😉.
After this, we also visit the castle of Bojnice. Jana calls it the Neuschwanstein of Slovakia. And it is indeed really pretty!
We walk around the castle and go to the mineral spring. A great sightseeing tour!
It’s already late when we get back, so after a quick dinner we go to bed.
