Name of followed trail: East Munster way
After breakfast at Befani’s, we leave Clonmel on a cloudy morning. While we walk on the nice trails along the river, our thoughts go out to one of our friends and his family, who’s father passed away last week. In thoughts we’ll be with them today.
We walk along the river most of the day, apart from a little side step into the forested hills that surround the Suir valley. The trail is easy to walk and the riverviews are nice. Benches and shelters for anglers are everywhere. The area must be really popular during salmon and trout season!
At Kilsheelan we have lunch on one of the benches. And there is a little shop nearby, so we get some drinks and extras to put on our wraps! When the sun comes out, it feels like the first real picnic!
After that we continue our riverwalk. It’s not the most spectacular walk, but the great weather and good progress make it an enjoyable day.
In Carrick-on-Suir we go to the supermarket to upgrade our dinner and look for a place to pitch. We get pointed to the castle by quite a few locals, and that’s in the end where we go; the floodplain next to the castle grounds and next to the park.
We enjoy our noodles meal, which was almost like a normal meal because we added mushrooms, hamburgers and unions to them.
In the tent we booked our boat to England. At Easter we’ll get to Liverpool!

Maybe you can trim Mark’s beard the way he brushed your teeth. Can’t wait to see the result!
