Day 18, Lukewell – Brandon hill

Weather: 🌤️🌧️🌤️🌧️🌤️🌧️
Picnic: 🌯🌯 (2 out of 5, ok and dry, until the hail started falling..)
2nd lunch: 🥪🥪🥪🥪 4 out of 5 sandwiches; good bacon and brie toasti at Woodstock arms bar, in Inistioge
Track: ☘️☘️☘️(3 out of 5, nice trails, a lot more diverse than yesterday!)
Campsite: ⛺⛺⛺ (3 out of 5 flat, spacious and sheltered by trees)
Name of followed trail: South Leinster way

After a peaceful night with some rain, we wake up to a sunny cold morning! Unexpected, but we’re happy to have it!

We start with a bit of forest walk and then again some countryside. The roads are less busy, and we get through some forested areas too, which makes it a nice walk today! We have lunch at a sunny spot, when it suddenly starts to hail! Apparently Ireland wanted us to move on…

The trail diverts of our gpx at some point and takes us through Woodstock gardens and arboretum. We’re not the most knowledgeable when it comes to trees, but these are really impressive! So majestic in size and (we guess) age!

After the detour we get to a really nice trail along the river into the village Inistioge. We again get hail, and after that bright sunshine again. The lady in the shop tells us March weather is known to be bipolar in Ireland. We agree!

We have second lunch in the pub and continue our trail towards Brandon Hill. After some more hail, we find a nice campsite, this time without any issues!
