Weather: ☁️☁️☁️⛅⛅
Picnic: 🥪🥪🥪 (3 out 5, wraps in the forest)
Track: 🇷🇴🇹🇩🇹🇩🇹🇩 (4 out of 5, very nice trail, mainly through beautiful autumn forest)
Hotel: 🛏️🛏️🛏️ (3 out of 5, basic room, good price)
Name of followed trail: Via Transilvanica
We have a good breakfast and leave around 8.30. Our trail starts with quite a steep section uphill, leaving us hot and sweaty on a cold autumn morning.
The trail is very nice today, through the forest and its autumn hues. The artwork on the Borna’s is also quite nice and divers.
At our lunch break we meet Rodrigo an Argentinian fellow VT hiker. We have a nice chat and walk to Vineara together. Rodrigo is now they hiking VT and thinking of doing the Romea Strata as a new project. A 4000 km hike from Tallinn to Rome… Mark now hates him for bringing such a thing up, yet has also already checked the website 🤣🤣🤣
“I hate hiking” so he claims….
In Vineara we have a drink outside the supermarket and say goodbye to Rodrigo. He has to decide where he will go today, and our destination is in the next village of Cugir.
We walk the forested hills to Cugir and check into hotel Dragana. It’s a bit old, but with clean rooms and ok beds. We go for pizza across the street and I get to have a lava cake dessert!😋
After that, we chill on our beds before going to sleep
