We go for breakfast at 8.00, but no one is there. The owner overslept… a few fellow guests help us out by waking him, so we can get on our way. We’re quite happy that this isn’t our longest day this week 😅.
At 9.30 we leave, after a good breakfast and first go up the mountain, out of the village. From there the trail continues through a beautiful forest and goes down to the river. Along the water we walk to a lake with a dam where we have lunch in the sunshine.
When we continue our trail through the forest, we see the motorcyclists again that we met earlier today. Now they stop to have a chat. It’s a nice group on a guided tour by Nomud Adventures (in case anyone would like something like this, https://nomud-adventures.com/ ; it looked really cool). One of the people on tour is an active instagrammer and youtuber and she’s filming while we have a chat, so our story will also find its way to YouTube @chaotic_vixenn 😁.
We say goodbye to the motorcyclists and continue the last 10 kilometers of today, still in the forest next to a lovely brook. It’s a beautiful trail but the last few kilometers do feel a bit long. When we arrive at the campground, I’m happy to be there!
The campground is a nice looking place with everything you need. The owner is a friendly man who speaks German, so we can have a conversation. There are 6 other guests, a group of young men that are having a friends weekend on the Via Transilvanica. They all speak English, so we sit with them after our dinner and have a nice chat. It’s good to hear more about Romania, and they enjoy stories of our journey, of course with a glass of Palinka 😂.
