When we came down at 6.45, breakfast was served. Great punctual service!
Before we leave, we get a bottle of home made cognac to take with us. A really nice gift, because it is tasty!
Out of Prigor we walk past a watermill. It looks quite different from the ones in the Netherlands, interesting to see.
From here we walk mostly through the forest, with some interesting water crossings. We meet Roxana again, now for the last time, because she will cycle further than we will walk today.
In this stretch we find a few nice bridges to cross the river and a trail that requires a bit of climbing up. A fun part of the Via!
From there, we slowly get further into the mountains, in more open fields with more views. We have our picnic along the trail, with the final wraps we’ve brought. Hoping for a good supermarket in Crusovat!
I find out that the Via takes a slightly different road than the one that I have in my watch, and we decide to follow the Via markings. We don’t regret the decision, because it’s a beautiful walk today! We walk through a few villages, enjoying the decorations in tiles and plaster on the various houses.
Later in the afternoon the sun comes out. This makes the mountain views even better! We start to realize that we might not be at our preferred campsite before sunset, so we keep a firm pace. That’s hard, because I keep wanting to make photos 😅.
We get into Crusovat around 16.30, so we have an hour left before it gets dark.
We find the shop, with a friendly lady who is willing to help us, but with limited choices for lunch and snacks. We end up with 5 packs of cookies, 4 bags of bacon crisps and a few candy bars. We also get water and 2 cans of coke, which we bring to the tent.
We say goodbye at the shop and get going for another 3,5 km. We reach a good spot in a field, with no dogs or buildings, just after sunset. We quickly pitch our tent while the light is still sufficient.
When we cook our dinner it’s already dark. The light fades quickly now! We had a beautiful day of hiking and made good progress too. 37,5 km done today!
