Track: 🇩🇪🇩🇪🇩🇪 (3 out of 5, nice track through forest and farmlands, with nice views)
Hotel: 🛌🛌🛌🛌( 4 out of 5, cool hotel with retro themed room and decorations!)
Name of followed trail: Krönungsweg/Osteifelweg/Jakobs weg, E8 changed trails today!

We enjoy a good breakfast in our hotel and appreciate how little things can make a great difference! No cutlery guard but an hospitable man who serves coffee, radio and lights on an signs to direct you to the breakfast. We have a good start of the day!

We follow the trail through a narrow tunnel under the highway and see our trail continue on the other side of the water…There used to be a bridge, but I guess that was broken during the flood 5 years ago. This flood affected a large area in Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands.

We make a small detour to find a bridge and are on our way again.

The medival villages in the area are pretty to walk through. It brings back memories to our hike through the Alsace région.

We walk through the villages and forests until we get to our halfway point of today in Villiprot where we have lunch. A currywurst with chips, very German indeed!

From there we follow a different trail, the Osteifelweg. The trail through the forest is really nice. We walk in the forest until we’re 1,5 km from Bad Godesberg, a suburb of Bonn.

We walk into the town centre and get to our hotel. The Twice Stories hotel is a lovely decorated hotel in the retro theme ‘communication’. The whole hotel is decorated with typewriters, old téléphones, magazines, books etc. What a difference in all the places weve stayed this week!

After a shower we go into town for a meal. Because of Ascension day a lot of places are closed, but we find an Italian restaurant and have a good meal. After that we go for ice cream, because on our short walk we’ve passed 6 ice cream cafe’s!! We go to the busiest one and indeed, the ice cream is really good!
