Day 90, Eichstatt – Kipfenberg

We have a good night of sleep and a lovely breakfast at the hotel. We get our lunch at the bakery and start our way up the hill. We walk through fields and forest into the valley and back out again. We have some tough climbs, though not as tough as yesterday’s.

Along the trail we see juniper berries, blueberries and blackberry blossom. Mark is already thinking what he can do on the BBQ with it…

At a bench we have our lunch. Behind the bench we see a lot of little tables and a hit and wooden kitchen. It seemed to be a forest playground for a group of children. We see more of these wald kindergartens. What a great idea!

We continue our trail through forest and fields until we get to Arnsberg. Here the trail is diverted because of roadwork. There is also an ice cream vending machine. Time for another break 😁

We walk the diversion, which gives great views over the valley. We decide to go a bit further than planned and walk to the camping in Kipfenberg.

We get a warm welcome and even get some towels to use! It’s a very relaxed campsite with a few cyclists on the trekking field.

We meet 2 Dutch cyclists, that offer us some cheese and a stroopwafel. Very kind of them! After these nice snacks we go for pizza and a great dessert. Well deserved after 31 km of hiking!
