Zeroday 11, Aachen

Time to sleep in today! I woke up at 7 anyway, but it was good to be in bed with a cup of tea without a rush.

I work on planning the next section of the trail to Koblenz, while Mark starts on the laundry.

Our next section will be 8 days to Koblenz, with a little detour through the Eifel National Park to Vogelsang.

The laundry is clean, but the dryer doesn’t work so we spread out the laundry throughout the room, before we go for our massage. 😅

We have a great Thai massage, and with relaxed muscles we walk out again.

Our massagesalon is in the house that is next to Anne Frank’s childhood home before she fled to the Netherlands with her family. As a memorial to this, there are Stumpelsteine for Anne, her mother and her sister in front of this house.

We moved on from this historical spot to more earthly things, like good coffee and food at the Fuchs coffee shop.

After that we return home and finish our planning/ laundry tasks. After planning comes resupply, and especially for Mark (who hates them) we go to a shopping mall. We get swim clothes to make our lives easier (and cleaner) and I go for new shoes. My last pair of shoes, didn’t work for me unfortunately. Next to my Achilles tendon, I started to feel my forefeet. I tried new inlays in Kleve, but that didn’t work either. So after some good help from the lady at the Sportcheck, I once again put my trust in a pair of Salomons shoes. These got me through New Zealand, so hopefully they’ll prevent further foot issues 🤞🤞🤞.

We return with all the goodies to the appartment and repackage it before we go for dinner.

After a good meal I finish making the route ready to use on my watch, before we go to sleep. It was a busy yet good zeroday!
