What a great, slightly busy, zeroday today!
We slept in, had good coffees and good breakfast, relaxed in our hanging chairs and went for a Thai massage. The ladies at the massage salon didn’t only give a good massage, but were also super friendly. They even offered to do our laundry if needed!
From there we strolled into the city to the outdoor store we saw earlier. we got our gas canisters and some great advice on possible new shoes for in a few months time, when autumn comes. In the conversation I was having with the guy from the outdoor shop, I mentioned my inlays. He told us they make the same ones there. I was in need of a new pair, but couldn’t find a shop that
does makes these. Lucky me, they were made in 15 minutes!
We went back home to drop off the gear and did a gear shed to get rid of the stuff we needed for cooler weather. Before we send it, I also get myself a new pair of shorts, since the other ones didn’t fit too well. The lady at the CMP store was most helpful, and I found a pair!
New inlays, new pants, massage, good food… it’s a really good day today 😀
We walk to the Tedi store to get some equipment to fix our umbrellas on our packs and get our first but of resupply done. On our way home we hear huntinghorns blowing. There appears to be a concert going on. When we go and ask, we find out that today the Bavarian hunting Hornblower’s competition takes place here. In 30 minutes there will be a concert of 700 Hornblower’s on the square. That must be a sight. We decide to have an early dinner at the square and watch the concert.
It was amazing to watch and listen to. We heard
the president of Bavaria explain about how the horns are a way of communication between hunters, and how this has been a tradition for centuries. He also mentioned that maybe one day it might replace the mobile phone again…😁
The pride in the faces of the people, the sense of belonging and the music they made together was most impressive.
We enjoyed that concert and our meal, and go home after a nice ice cream.
The evening is busy with planning the next 10 days, arranging resupply, doing our extra laundry round and fixing our hot weather accesoires.
We’ve had a busy evening and not all is done, but it was a well spent day today!
